Each of my digital pieces starts out as a sketch on paper. I add in as many details as I want to in pencil - muscle definition, water patterns, the direction of light - and then scan it into my computer. I use a graphics program to apply the colour, using my Wacom tablet pen in the same way I do a paintbrush.
